C & H Hawaiian Grill

This past Saturday we took a road trip to Killeen to have tasty Hawaiian food. We were both missing the tasty Hawaiian food we had multiple times in Chicago. We tried a place in Des Moines that didn't sate our craving.

Spam Musubi! Yum! The bun on the right is a manapua which means "pork cake" in pidgin. It is a steamed bun with shredded pork in it. It was interesting but I like the pork buns at Mitsuwa market in the Chicago Area the best.

We shared a plate lunch of Katsu Chicken. Loved the breading, missed the katsu sauce from our Chicago place. I think we need to go back and try some of the loco moco or their roast pork dinner. It is about an hour from us and was an amusing drive on a nice day.

    Where in des Moines would you even get Hawaiian ? I am intrigued.

    There was a place in Des Moines that catered hawaiian and had a store front....I think it closed though last fall :(
